<p>The Golden headed Cisticola bird scientifically named as Cisticola Exilis was discovered for the first time in Mathikettan Shola National Park, Idukki in Western Ghats. It is an omnivore primarily eating invertebrates and is usually found in Grasslands. Its IUCN status is Least Concern and it is also known as Bright Capped Cisticola. </p>

<p>The World's Largest Iceberg namely A23a, after getting detached from Filchner Ice Shelf in Antarctica is drifting towards South Georgia Island. The iceberg is about one trillion tons in weight and has an area of 400 square miles. The detachment from Filchner Ice Shelf took place in 1986. South Georgia Island is a mountainous Barren Island in South Atlantic Ocean and is a part of British Overseas Territory. The Island is of sub-antarctic climate with cold, wet and windy conditions. </p>

<p>The Finance Minister of India Shrimati Nirmala Sitharaman recently announced Pradhan Mantri Dhanya Krishi Yojana or the developing agri districts programme for farmers. The announcement was made at her record 8th Union Budget Presentation. The initiative is aimed at supporting farmers in 100 regions facing challenges in agriculture. The scheme will cover 100 districts and 1.7 crore farmers in collaboration with the State Government.</p>

<p>The Government Of Gujarat recently declared the inland mangrove of Guneri village, Kutch District as the first Biodiversity Heritage Site of Gujarat. It is a natural inland mangrove located at a distance of 45 km from the Arabian Sea and 4 km from Kori Creek. The announcement was made under the provisions of The Biodiversity Act, 2002. It is the last remains of Inland mangrove in India. </p>

<p>The Saffron Reedtail Damselfly also known as Indosticta Deccanensis was recently spotted for the first time in Karnataka region along the Netravati river. The species belong to the family Platydtictidae commonly referred to as Shadow Damselflies. The species is endemic to the Western Ghats of India and are spender and delicate insects. </p>

<p>The signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) enabling the creation of the Ocean Coordination Mechanism (OCM) was recently announced by the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO (UNESCO-IOC). The initiative is aimed to conserve the Caribbean and North Brazil Shelf. The mechanism was conceived under the 10-year CLME+ Strategic Action Program. The initiative is pivotal in addressing the Ocean-climate-biodiversity nexus. </p>
