<p>The Indian Army's eastern Headquarters, Fort William has recently been renamed to Vijay Durg, Kitchener House inside Fort William renamed to Manekshaw House and South gate formerly known as St. George's Gate as Shivaji Gate. Fort William was built by the British in 1773 in Kolkata and was named after King William III of England. The Fort is a property of the Indian Army and serves as Headquarters of the Eastern Command.</p>

<h2 id="content-id-1741441788259-1"><strong>Ranikhet Disease kills 1.5 lakh chickens in Andhra Pradesh</strong></h2>

<p>The Highly contagious Viral disease, Ranikhet Disease that affects birds particularly Poultry is said to have caused the death of 1.5 lakh chickens in Andhra Pradesh. The disease is caused by infections with virulent Avian Avulavirus (AAvV-1) commonly known as Newcastle Disease Virus (NDV) and designated as Avian Paramyxovirus-1 (APMV-1). The disease attacks respiratory, nervous and digestive systems of Birds. </p>

<p>The Production of Iskander-M Tactical Ballistic Missiles has reportedly been started in large numbers by the Russian Federation. It is a road-mobile short-range ballistic missile system that entered into Russian service in 2006. It is designed for tactical strikes in small, high value land targets. The missile possesses a maximum range of 500 km and can carry conventional and nuclear warheads. </p>

<p>The Indian Army and Maldives National Defence Force has recently commenced the 13th edition of joint military exercise “Ekuverin” in Maldives. It is a bilateral military exercise conducted alternatively in India and Maldives since 2009 and is aimed at enhancing interoperability in counter insurgency and counter terrorism operations. Ekuverin means Friends in Dhivehi Language. </p>

<h2 id="content-id-1741441788259-4"><strong>New species of Water Flea Discovered </strong></h2>

<p>Researchers have discovered a new species of water flea namely Bryospilus Bharaticus belonging to Bryospilus Genus. The species was discovered from moss growth found on walls of Korigad Fort near Pune. The species uses antennae as supports to crawl and lives in reduced light. It is mostly found in semi terrestrial habitats and its discovery from Western India is the first for the whole of Tropical Asia. Water Flea are small aquatic animals belonging to the Crustacea Group that feeds on small algae. </p>

<h2 id="content-id-1741441788259-5"><strong>Extremely Large Telescope (ELT)</strong></h2>

<p>The construction of the World's Largest Optical Telescope with a primary mirror namely Extremely Large Telescope (ELT) nears completion. The Colossal machine is being built by the European Southern Observatory (ESO) in Chile and is capable of detecting and imaging terrestrial planets in the habitable zones of other stars. It is under construction atop Cerro Armazones, a mountaintop in Chile’s Atacama Desert. </p>

<p>The European Space Agency under its GAIA ( Global Astrometric Interferometer for Astrophysics) mission has discovered a gigantic blackhole namely Gaia BH3 using Gaia Telescope. The mission was launched in 2013. The aim of the mission is to create the largest, most precise three dimensional map of the Milky Way. The Gaia Telescope is placed at the Lagrange Point 2, 1.5 million kilometres away from Earth. </p>

<p>The Minister of State for Cooperation Shri Krishan Pal Gurjar recently introduced the bill to establish the Tribhuvan Sahkari University. The University is aimed to be an institution of National Importance focussing on cooperative education and training and will be located on the campus of Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) in Gujarat. The primary goal of the University will be to enhance technical and management education in the cooperative sector.</p>

<p>The African Nation Uganda in collaboration with WHO and Global partners launched First Clinical Trial for Ebola Vaccine targeting Sudan species of the Ebola Virus. Ebola is a disease caused by Orthoebolavirus and was first identified in 1976. The Disease primarily affects Humans and Primates and the virus is endemic to sub-Saharan Africa with fruit bats as its Natural hosts.</p>

<p>The Newly elected President of the United States Donald Trump recently signed an executive order to block Transgender Athletes from Women's Sports. The Trump administration plans to pressure the International Olympics Committee to do the same. The 2028 Summer Olympics are to be held in Los Angeles, USA.</p>
