SSC MTS and Havaldar Exam Pattern 2024 FAQs

How many stages are there in the SSC MTS and Havaldar exam?

 

There are two stages:

  • Computer Based Exam (CBE): This is mandatory for all applicants.
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET) / Physical Standard Test (PST): This is only applicable for candidates applying for Havaldar posts in CBIC and CBN.

What is the format of the Computer Based Exam (CBE)?

 

The CBE is further divided into two sessions:

  • Session 1: 40 questions (3 marks each) with no negative marking. You get 45 minutes to complete this session.
  • Session 2: 50 questions (3 marks each) with negative marking (1 mark deducted for every wrong answer). You get 45 minutes to complete this session.

Is there any negative marking in the SSC MTS and Havaldar Exam Pattern 2024?

There is no negative marking for incorrect answers in Session I. However, in Session II, there is a negative marking of one mark for each wrong answer. No negative marking is applied for unattempted questions.

Can I choose the language for the SSC MTS exam?

 

Yes, the CBE can be taken in Hindi, English, or 13 other regional languages for Paper 2 of Session 1 and Paper 1 of Session 2.

What is the difference between the SSC MTS and Havaldar eligibility criteria?

 

The main difference is in the age limit:

  • SSC MTS: 18 to 25 years old.
  • Havaldar: 18 to 27 years old.
