<p>The Staff Selection Commission conducts the Combined Graduate Level Examination, to fill various Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ posts across different Ministries, Departments, and Organizations of the Government of India, and various Constitutional Bodies, Statutory Bodies, Tribunals, and more. To crack this exam, it is essential to understand the pattern of the SSC CGL. The SSC CGL examination is conducted in 2 stages – Tier 1 and Tier 2. Both Tier 1 and Tier 2 exams are conducted in Computer-based Online mode. Please refer to the image below for an overview of the SSC CGL pattern.</p>

<h2 id="content-id-96093-1"><strong>Pattern of SSC CGL - Tier 1</strong></h2>

<p>Below, we have simplified the exam pattern for SSC CGL Tier 1.</p>

<ul>
	<li>The Tier 1 pattern of SSC CGL consists of 4 sections – General Intelligence & Reasoning, English Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude and General Awareness.</li>
	<li>The exam will be conducted online for a total of 200 marks for 100 questions.</li>
	<li>The total cumulative duration of the exam is 60 minutes or 1 hour.</li>
	<li>There is no sectional time limit in the Tier 1 exam.</li>
	<li>Tier I will consist of objective type, multiple choice questions. Except for English Comprehension, the questions will be provided in both English and Hindi.</li>
	<li>It is important to note that there will be a negative marking for incorrect answers in Tier 1. Specifically, each wrong answer will result in a deduction of 0.50 marks.</li>

<h2 id="content-id-96093-2"><strong>Pattern of SSC CGL - Tier 2</strong></h2>

<p>The SSC CGL Tier 2 exam will be conducted in 3 papers - Paper I, Paper II, and Paper III.</p>

<ul>
	<li><strong>Paper I </strong>which is compulsory for all posts</li>
	<li><strong>Paper II</strong> for candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and Statistical Investigator Grade-II in the office of Registrar General of India (M/o Home Affairs).</li>
	<li><strong>Paper III</strong> for candidates who apply for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer.</li>
</ul>

	<li>Tier 2 exam will involve conducting Paper I, Paper II, and Paper III on separate shifts or days.</li>
	<li>Paper I will be held in two sessions, Session I and Session II, on the same day.</li>
	<li>Tier 2 (Paper I, Paper II, and Paper III) will consist of Objective Type, Multiple Choice Questions, with the exception of Module II of Section III in Paper I.</li>
	<li>Questions will be provided in both English and Hindi, except for the English Language and Comprehension module in Section II of Paper I.</li>
	<li>Negative marking will apply 1 mark deduction for each wrong answer in Section I, Section II, and Module I of Section III in Paper I, and 0.50 marks deduction for each wrong answer in Paper II and Paper III.</li>
