You have to decide whether the data provided in the statements are sufficient to answer the question. Read both the statements and decide the appropriate answer.

Among the five poles—I, N, C, H, and L—each having a different height, which pole is the shortest?

(I) L is taller than H.

(II) Only one pole is shorter than I. I is shorter than H but taller than N.

<p>From statement (I) L is taller than H. (We have no information about I, N, or C. So statement (I) alone is not sufficient.)</p>

<p>From statement (II) Only one pole is shorter than I. I is shorter than H but taller than N.</p>

<p>Only one pole is shorter than I. This means I is the 2nd shortest pole.</p>

<p>I is shorter than H but taller than N → H > I > N.</p>

<p>Since we know that one pole is shorter than I, and the second part tells us that N is shorter than I, so N is the shortest pole.</p>

<p>Hence, statement (II) alone is sufficient.</p>
