You have to decide whether the data provided in the statements are sufficient to answer the question.

If a new solid sphere is formed whose radius is equal to (x + y) cm, then find the percentage by which the total surface area of this sphere is greater than the sum of the areas of the two circular bases (top and bottom rings) of a hollow cylinder whose external radius is 8 cm and internal radius is 6 cm.

Statement I: The length, breadth, and height of a solid cuboid are in the ratio 5 : 4 : 3. The length of the cuboid is x cm more than its height.

Statement II: The height of the hollow cylindrical pipe is y cm.

Statement III: The value of x is equal to 20% of y, and the total surface area of the cuboid is 176 cm2 more than the total curved surface area (inner + outer) of the hollow cylinder. [Take π = 22/7]

<p>Surface area of sphere = 4π(x + y)<sup>2</sup></p>

<p>Area of two circular rings = 2π(8<sup>2</sup> − 6<sup>2</sup>) = 2 × (22/7) × 28 = 176 cm<sup>2</sup></p>

<p>Hence, we only need the value of (x + y).</p>

<p>Dimensions of cuboid = 5x/2, 2x, 3x/2.</p>

<p>Only x is expressed in terms of the dimensions.</p>
