<p>Compound interest of 3 years = 33.1% of 100x = 33.1x</p>

<p>Difference between simple interest and compound interest of 3 years  = 33.1x – 30x =3.1x</p>

<p>Given difference between compound interest and simple interest of three years = 3100 rupees</p>

<p>3.1 x = 3100 rupees</p>

<p>x = 3100/3.1 = 1000 rupees</p>

<p> Principal = 100 x = 100 x 1000 = 100000 rupees.</p>
