X and invests it in scheme C at 10.09% p.a. compound interest for 2 years, he receives Rs. 4,410 as interest. Find the value of (X + 500).

<p>Now Scheme C:</p>

<p>New Principal = P + X = 15000 + X</p>

<p>CI = P × [ (1 + r/100)<sup>2</sup> − 1 ]</p>

<p>= (15000 + X) × [ (1.1)<sup>2</sup> − 1 ]</p>

<p>= (15000 + X) × (1.21 − 1)</p>

<p>= (15000 + X) × 0.21</p>

<p>Given CI = 4410</p>

<p> (15000 + X) × 0.21 = 4410</p>

<p>15000 + X = 4410 / 0.21</p>

<p>15000 + X = 21000</p>

<p>X = 6000</p>

<p>X + 500 = 6000 + 500 = 6500</p>
