<p>Total work = 9 × 15 = 135 units</p>

<p>B works alone for the first 11 days</p>

<p>Work done by B = 11 × 4 = 44 units</p>

<p>Remaining work = 135 − 44 = 91 units</p>

<p>From the 12th day they work alternately starting with A.</p>

<p>In 2 days, A and B complete = 5 + 4 = 9 units</p>

<p>91 ÷ 9 = 10 cycles and 1 unit left</p>

<p>Time for 10 cycles = 20 days</p>

<p>The remaining 1 unit is done by A  = 1 ÷ 5 = 0.2 day</p>
