<p>Taking the LCM and simplifying:</p>

<p><span class="math-tex">\(x(x+12)+x(x+3)=(x+3)(x+12)\)</span></p>

<p><span class="math-tex">\(2x^2+15x=x^2+15x+36\)</span></p>

<p><span class="math-tex">\(x^2=36\)</span></p>

<p>Therefore, <span class="math-tex">\(x=6\)</span>.</p>

<p>Thus, A can complete the work in <span class="math-tex">\(6+3=9\)</span> days.</p>

<p>B can complete the work in <span class="math-tex">\(6+12=18\)</span> days.</p>

<p>Efficiency of B = <span class="math-tex">\(\frac{1}{18}\)</span> of the work per day.</p>

<p>C is 25% more efficient than B.</p>

<p>Therefore, efficiency of C = <span class="math-tex">\(\frac{125}{100}\times\frac{1}{18}=\frac{5}{72}\)</span></p>

<p>Efficiency of A = <span class="math-tex">\(\frac{1}{9}=\frac{8}{72}\)</span></p>

<p>Efficiency of A and C together = <span class="math-tex">\(\frac{8}{72}+\frac{5}{72}=\frac{13}{72}\)</span></p>

<p>Work completed by A and C in 4 days = <span class="math-tex">\(4\times\frac{13}{72}=\frac{13}{18}\)</span></p>

<p>Remaining work = <span class="math-tex">\(1-\frac{13}{18}=\frac{5}{18}\)</span></p>

<p>C alone completes <span class="math-tex">\(\frac{5}{72}\)</span> of the work per day.</p>

<p>Therefore, <span class="math-tex">\(D=\frac{\frac{5}{18}}{\frac{5}{72}}=4\text{ days}\)</span></p>
