Several movements were organized to repeal the amalgamation of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The major movements occurred in 1969, 1972 and 2009.

	<li>The movement for a new state of Telangana obtained strength in the 21st century on the inventiveness of Telangana Political Joint Action Committee (TJAC). On 9 December 2009, the Indian government announced the procedure of formation the Telangana as a state.</li>
	<li>Violent disagreements led by people in the Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalseema areas originated immediately after this announcement. Hence, the resolution was kept on hold for a while.</li>
	<li>The movement continued in Hyderabad and other districts of Telangana. There have been hundreds of claimed suicides, strikes, protests and disturbances to public life demanding separate statehood.</li>
	<li>The Congress Working Committee without opposition passed a decision to nominate the development of a separate state of Telangana on 30 July 2013.</li>
	<li>After various stages, the bill was presented in Parliament in February 2014.</li>
	<li>In February 2014, Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014 bill was processed by the Parliament of India for the formation of Telangana as a state consisting of10 districts from north-western Andhra Pradesh.</li>
	<li>The bill received the acceptance of the President of India and was published in the Gazette on 1 March 2014.</li>
	<li>Telangana was officially formed as a state on 2 June 2014. Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao was elected as the first chief minister of Telangana, following elections in which the Telangana Rashtra Samithi party secured a majority.</li>
	<li>Hyderabad had become the joint capital of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for more than 10 years, after that tenure Hyderabad will become the capital of Telangana and a new capital will be formed for Andhra Pradesh.</li>

	<li>The three national parks situated in Telangana are Mahavir Harina Vanasthali National Park, Mrugavani National Park, Kasu Brahmananda Reddy National Park.</li>

	<li>Famous wildlife sanctuaries of the state are Kinnersani wildlife sanctuary, Nagarjuna Sagar-Srisailam wildlife sanctuary, Lanja Madugu Siwaram wildlife sanctuary, etc.</li>
	<li>The State is drained by two major rivers namely, Godavari and Krishna and their tributaries.</li>
	<li>There are 2 basins and 10 sub basins in the state. The major river basins are Godavari, Krishna and sub basins are lower Krishna, middle Krishna, lower Godavari, Indravati, Waingainga, Pranhita, Manjira, Lower Bhima and middle Godavari.</li>
	<li>Two major dams of Telangana are Nagarjuna Sagar Dam and Srisailam Dam that are located at the border of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.</li>

Telangana is one of the fastest-growing states in India posing an average annual growth rate of 13.90% over the last five years. Agriculture forms the backbone of Telangana’s Economy. Telangana is a mineral-rich state, with coal reserves at Singareni Colleries. Primary school is compulsory, and both primary and secondary school are provided free of charge.
