<p>The sixth Urban 20 (U20) Mayoral Summit came to an end in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, with a communique that outlined a six-point collaborative agenda for &#39;sustainable, equitable, and resilient&#39; urban growth, prioritising water security and climate finance for cities for adaptation and mitigation, according to officials with knowledge of the development. The two-day summit began on 7 July.</p>

<p>The communiqué, which was approved by 105 member cities, was given to G20 sherpa Amitabh Kant and Union Minister of Housing and urban affairs Hardeep Puri. The G20 summit will feature its presentation in September of this year. The Communique stressed the need to localise the global sustainability agenda and convert urban action &#39;from intention to action&#39; given that its cities are at the forefront of climate catastrophe.</p>

<p>At the summit&#39;s press conference, Kant stated that the G20, of which India currently holds the presidency, will advance the leaders&#39; communique and see that it is implemented, adding that the crucial emphasis was on &#39;good urban governance, good urban planning, and the use of technology, without which cities can&#39;t become the driver of growth.&#39;</p>

<p>Mayors and other city officials, according to Puri, are the ones who oversee local government and give leadership at the grassroots level, thus their gathering is crucial. &#39;However, it becomes much more significant when they together produce a set of proposals, which augur well for cities everywhere as well as their own. <p>छठा शहरी 20 (U20) मेयरल शिखर सम्मेलन शनिवार को गुजरात के गांधीनगर में एक विज्ञप्ति के साथ संपन्न हुआ, जिसमें &#39;टिकाऊ, न्यायसंगत और लचीला&#39; शहरी विकास के लिए छह सूत्री सहयोगात्मक एजेंडा निर्धारित किया गया, जिसमें अनुकूलन और शमन के लिए शहरों के लिए जल सुरक्षा और जलवायु वित्त को प्राथमिकता दी गई। दो दिवसीय शिखर सम्मेलन 7 जुलाई को शुरू हुआ।</p>
