<p>Researchers in China have discovered a New species of ancient humans namely “Homo Juluensis” which means Big Head. The newly discovered species of Humans have large skulls and lived 300,000 years ago across Eastern Asia. The measurements of their braincases were up to 30% larger than those of Homo Sapiens. They disappeared around 50,000 years ago. </p>

<p>The Office of Science and Innovation at the Embassy of Sweden and Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) under NITI Aayog announced the successful conclusion of SheSTEM 2024. The event celebrates the contribution of women in STEM and pioneering youth led solutions for a Sustainable Future. The initiative is a part of India-Nordic BEST project aimed at providing energy solutions.</p>

<p>In order to protect the health of aquatic animals by purifying the water of the National Zoological Park, Delhi, the Minister of State for Forest and Climate Change Shri Kirti Viardhan Singh launched “Nano Bubble Technology”. The technology helps in removing algae and similar growths and can be used in a variety of allocations like Water Treatment, Agriculture, Aquaculture, Food Processing etc. The technology uses Nanobubbles 70-120 nanometers in size and it can be formed using any gas and injected into any liquid. </p>

<h2 id="content-id-1733572363945-3"><strong>Two unknown species of feather mites discovered in Meghalaya </strong></h2>

<p>A team of Romanian scientists led by Cristina Constantinescu have recently discovered two unknown species of Feather mites namely Trouessartia Thalassina and Proterothrix Sibilla. The newly uncovered species have been identified on Verditer Flycatcher and Small Niltava bird species native to east Khasi Hills district. Feather mites can be defined as microscopic Arachnids that maintain a symbiotic relationship with their avian hosts.</p>

<p>The Indigenous Naga Tribe of Nagaland namely Tikhir Tribe held its first ever Log Drum Pulling Ceremony amidst ongoing 25th Hornbill Festival 2024. The ceremony was organised by the Tikhir Tribal Council at Kisama, Naga Heritage Village. Tikhir Tribe speak a language called Naga Yimchungru and make their living from Agriculture and Hunting.</p>

<h2 id="content-id-1733572363945-5"><strong>More than 1 Crore registrations made under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli </strong><strong>Yojan</strong>a</h2>

<p>The Government of India recently informed Parliament about 1.45 crore registrations and 6.34 lakh installations under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. The Scheme was launched in February, 2024 and aims to provide free electricity to households in India. Households will be provided subsidy to install solar panels in their roofs which would help one crore families get upto 300 units of free electricity per month. The total outlay of the scheme is 75,021 crore and a deadline till Financial Year 2026-27.</p>

<p>The Union Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnav recently inaugurated the Linen Inspection and Sorting Assistant (LISA) System. It is an AI based system that inspects Linens such as towels and bed sheets provided to passengers. The system was developed by the Pune division of Indian Railways and was installed in Ghorpadi Integrated Coaching Complex (GIVC).</p>

<p>The Ayush Oushadhi Gunvatta Evam Uttpadan Samvardhan Yojana of the Ministry of Ayush was recently in the news. It is a Central Sector Scheme aimed at regulating Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani and Homeopathy medicines in India. The Scheme is aimed at enhancing India's manufacturing capacities and to strengthen regulatory frameworks at Central and State level for effective quality control and surveillance. The Scheme works under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940. </p>
