<p>The Consumer Confidence Survey was recently conducted by the Central Bank of India namely the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The survey stated that Consumer confidence declined marginally. According to the survey, consumer confidence in India regarding the overall economic situation, employment, income, and spending has declined. The Indicators of the Consumer Confidence Survey are the Current Situation Index (CSI) and Future Expectation Index (FEI). </p>

<p>The World's first Carbon-14 diamond battery that can run for thousands of years was recently created by scientists from the University of Bristol and the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA). The battery is a strange fusion of radioactive decay, synthetic diamonds and plasma chemistry. The battery has applications in various sectors like Healthcare, power pacemakers, hearing aids and ocular devices. </p>

<p>A cost-effective Bluetooth Low Energy Gateway with advanced data security was recently launched by iHub-AWaDH (Agriculture and Water Technology Development Hub) at IIT Ropar. The system was launched under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS). It connects Bluetooth-enabled sensors to cloud platforms thereby leading to seamless data transmission, advanced analytics across diverse sectors and real-time environmental monitoring.</p>

<p>Indian Ecologist Madhav Gadgil was recently named One of the six Champions of the Earth for 2024 by UNEP. It is the UN's highest environmental honour and it is presented annually. Madhav Gadgil has been honoured with the lifetime achievement category of the award. The Champions of the Earth Award was established in 2005 and it honours individuals and organisations working in innovative and sustainable solutions.</p>

<p>An artificial intelligence-powered platform namely AgeXtend was recently developed by researchers at IIIT Delhi. The platform discovers molecules that could slow down ageing and promote healthier lives. The application uses bioactivity data from existing geroprotectors-substances that slow aging- to predict new molecules with similar properties. The product has been developed by researchers at Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT Delhi). </p>

<p>The India Skills Report 2025 prepared by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) in collaboration with Wheebox and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) was recently published. The report stated that India's Employability among graduates is expected to rise by 7% reaching 54.81% in 2025. The report also stated that Maharashtra, Karnataka and Delhi are emerging as major hubs for employable talent.</p>

<p>The Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi is set to release the compiled works of Chinnaswami Subramania Bharati a renowned poet and social reformer from Tamil Nadu. Subramania also known as Mahakavi Bharathiyar was born in Ettayapuram in 1882. He became editor of the Tamil weekly “India” and English newspaper Bala Bharatham with MPT Acharya in 1907. His best-known works are Kannan Pattu, Panchali Saptham and Kuyil Pattu.</p>

<p>Sanjay Malhotra, an IAS Officer from the 1990 batch has recently been appointed as the new governor of the Reserve Bank of India for a three-year term. He will be succeeding Shaktikanta Das. He previously was appointed as the Revenue Secretary in the Ministry of Finance and has been instrumental in shaping direct and indirect tax policies. He has over 33 years of experience in government roles.</p>

<p>The Indian Navy's latest frigate INS TUSHIL is set to be commissioned at Yantra Shipyard in Kaliningrad, Russia by the Defence Minister of India Shri Rajnath Singh. The commissioning ceremony will be attended by Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of Naval Staff. INS TUSHIL is a multi-role stealth-guided frigate that features advanced technology and combat systems.</p>
