Is there amnesty for GST in 2023?

The GST Council has introduced an amnesty scheme allowing taxpayers until January 31, 2024, to file appeals against demand orders issued by tax officers until March 2023. The scheme also includes an enhanced pre-deposit requirement of 12.5% of the tax demand.

Will GST amnesty scheme extended?

The decision taken by the Council will provide taxpayers with additional time till January 31, 2024 to file appeals against the demand orders passed by tax authorities till March 2023.

What is the GST update for 2023?

Sections 137 to 162 of the Finance Act, 2023 (the FA, 2023) (except Sections 149 to 154) will come into force from October 01, 2023 vide Notification no. 28/2023-Central Tax dated July 31, 2023.

Who is eligible for GST amnesty scheme?

Every individual registered under the GST Act of 2017 is eligible for the GST Amnesty Scheme. Any taxpayer that has missed their GST filing for previous years is eligible. Any GST registered taxpayer whose registration has been cancelled due to non-filing.

What are the new GST rules for 2023?

From 1 August 2023, it will be mandatory for all the businesses with turnover of ?5 crore or above to produce e-invoice. As per the GST guidelines, it will be mandatory for companies with a B2B transaction value of ?5 crore, to produce an electronic invoice.
