<p>The Raman Research Institute (RRI), Bengaluru, developed a compact single-board computer (SBC) for India’s proposed PRATUSH lunar mission to study the Cosmic Dawn. PRATUSH aims to detect the faint 21-cm hydrogen signal from the early universe, ideally observed from the Moon’s radio-quiet far side. The SBC efficiently coordinates antennas, receivers, and FPGA chips, pre-processes data, and calibrates the system with low power usage. Successful tests show millikelvin-level noise reduction and high sensitivity, paving the way for AI-enabled lunar payloads to study early cosmic structures and universe evolution.</p>

<p>From September 1–14, 2025, the Indian Army deployed a battalion of the Madras Regiment to Fort Wainwright, Alaska, for the 21st Yudh Abhyas joint exercise with the U.S. Army’s 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment. The exercise focuses on heliborne operations, mountain warfare, UAS use, casualty evacuation, and integrated artillery and electronic warfare drills. Conducted in extreme Arctic conditions, it enhances interoperability, multi-domain operational readiness, and strategic cooperation, strengthening India-US defence partnership and preparing forces for UN missions, coalition operations, and humanitarian contingencies.</p>
