<p>The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently launched a new Central sector initiative namely PM Vidyalaxmi scheme. The scheme is aimed at supporting meritorious students financially for higher education. The scheme is rooted in the National Education Policy 2020. A unified digital portal namely PM Vidyalaxmi portal was also launched. The portal is managed by the Department of Higher Education.</p>

<p>The Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah inaugurated a two day Anti-Terror conference 2024 in New Delhi. The event is aimed at shaping future counter terrorism policies and strategies and it is hosted by National Investigation Agency (NIA). Major issues like role of organised crime in terror funding in Northeast India, connection between terrorists and criminal gangs, encrypted apple etc were addressed at the conference.</p>

<p>In a first of its kind study conducted by the International Energy Agency (IEA), the Global Market for clean energy technologies is set to rise from USD 700 billion in 2023 to more than USD 2 trillion by 2035. The clean energy technologies include Solar PV, Wind turbines, electric cars , batteries, heat pumps etc. The IEA is an autonomous body under Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) framework and was established in 1974 to ensure security of oil supplies.</p>

<p>First significant results from the Visible Emission Line Coronagraph (VELC) payload placed onboard the ADITYA-L1 mission were recently reported by scientists at the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA). VELC is a primary payload to observe the sun from a vantage point 1.5 million kilometres from Earth. It is built by IIA at its CREST campus at Hosakote, Karnataka.</p>

<p>The Common Cat snake also known as Indian Gamma Snake was recently discussed in the Valmiki Tiger Reserve, Bihar. It is a species of rare fanged snake endemic to South Asia and its scientific name is Boiga Trogonata. It's diet primarily consists of Small Vertebrates and its IUCN Status is Least Concern.</p>

<p>The LGM-30G Minuteman 3 Hypersonic Nuclear Missile was recently tested by the US Army. It is an American Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) that first became operational in Early 1970s. The missile is designed and manufactured by Boeing Corporation and it is the sole land based component of the US nuclear triad. It has a three stage solid fuel missile and has a maximum range of 13000 km.</p>

<p>A specific protein IL-35 has recently been discovered by scientists at the Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST) in Guwahati. IASST is an autonomous Institute under the Department of Science and Technology. The newly discovered protein can aid in New treatments for type 1 and autoimmune diabetes mellitus. The protein regulates macrophage activation, T-cell proteins and regulatory B cells.</p>

The scheme has a time period of 5 years from 2023 to 2028 and it is available for rural and urban artisans and craftsmen across India.</p>
