<p>The high power laser “Iron Beam” developed by Israel to down projectiles will be operational within a year. It is also known as Magen or Light Shield. The 100kW class High Energy Laser Weapon System (HELWS) is a directed energy weapon air defence system that fires powerful beams of light and it is expected to become the first operational system in its class. </p>

<p>In order to ensure security of the fishermen, the Central Government is planning to deploy 1 lakh indigenously developed Transponders on Fish Vessels. The Transponders enable two way communication while at Sea. Transponder is a combination of Transmitter and Responder. It is used for various technologies like Aircraft Identification, Communication Satellites, Vehicle Keys, Sonar etc.</p>

<p>The World Health Organisation recently published the 2024 edition of Global Tuberculosis Report. The Report provides up to date assessment of TB Epidemics and treatment of disease at Global Level. The Report acknowledged the tremendous progress India has made in closing the gap of missed TB cases since 2015. The report also stated that 8.2 million people were newly diagnosed with TB in 2023. </p>

<p>The Largest Wild goat in the world Markhor is battling for survival in Jammu and Kashmir. The Goat is known for its thick fur, flowing beard and is indigenous to the mountain regions of Central and South Asia. The Species is geographically distributed along Mountain tracts of Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan etc. Its IUCN status is Near Threatened and is protected under Schedule 1 of Wildlife Protection Act 1972. </p>

<p>A Black Hole Triple system has been discovered for the first time in Space by scientists, located about 8000 light years away from Earth. The system comprises a black hole at its centre, in the process of consuming a small star spiralling very close to it. The system is located in constellation Cygnus and it features one of the oldest known black holes, the V404 Cygni.</p>

<p>Researchers at Northwestern University have developed a new strategy that involves adding a thin layer of Graphene Oxide to prevent frost formation. Frost can be defined as water vapour, or water in gas form that becomes Solid and it usually forms in objects like Cars, Windows and plants. The Ice in frost formation is arranged in the form of ice crystals and is most common in low lying areas. </p>

<p>New leafless Orchid species Gastrodia Lohitensis has recently been discovered by a team of Indian Botanists in Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh. The species is found in bamboo thickets around Tezu and it extracts nutrients from Fungi in decomposing leaf litter. The species flourishes only in dense, shaded bamboo canopies. </p>

<p>The 15th edition of India-US joint Special Forces Exercise Vajra Prahar will take place at Orchard Combat Training Centre in Idaho, USA. The exercise is aimed at enhancement of combined capabilities in executing Joint Special Forces Operations in Desert and Semi desert environments. </p>
