<p>India's Index of Industrial Production (IIP) grew by 5.0 percent in January 2025, up from 3.2 percent in December 2024. Sector-wise, Mining grew by 4.4 percent , Manufacturing by 5.5 percent , and Electricity by 2.4 percent . Notable growth was seen in basic metals, petroleum products, and electrical equipment. Use-based classification showed growth across Primary Goods (5.5 percent ), Capital Goods (7.8 percent ), and Infrastructure Goods (7.0 percent ), while Consumer Non-Durables declined by 0.2 percent . The IIP for February 2025 will be released on April 11, 2025.</p>

<p>The Finance Ministry has notified a 10-year Zero Coupon Bond (ZCB) for Power Finance Corporation, allowing it to raise 10,000 crore rupees. The bond, issued at 50,454 rupees with a face value of 1 lakh rupees, matures in 121 months. It offers fixed returns with no periodic interest, making it ideal for long-term investors. These bonds carry interest rate and duration risks but provide portfolio diversification. Tax applies only on gains, with long-term capital gains taxed at 12.5 percent. Issuance will be completed by March 31, 2027.</p>

<p>The Ministry of Education launched PM-YUVA 3.0 on March 11, 2025, to mentor young authors (under 30) and promote reading, writing, and Indian literature globally. The scheme focuses on three themes: Indian Diaspora’s Contribution, Indian Knowledge System, and Makers of Modern India (1950 to 2025). 50 authors will be selected via an All India Contest (March 11 to April 10, 2025). Selected authors will receive mentorship and training, with their books published by National Book Trust, India. A National Camp will be held during New Delhi World Book Fair 2026.</p>
