<h2 style="text-align:start" id="content-id-1704568564489-0">ST status to Hattee community of Himachal Pradesh</h2>

The Government of Himachal Pradesh issued a notification giving Scheduled Tribe Status to the Hattee community. The Hattee community resides in the Trans giri area of Sirmaur district. The State government issued notification after soughtinging clarification on the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Second Amendment) Act.

Key Points:

A ) For the inclusion of Hattee community in the list of ST, The Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order(Third Amendment) Bill was passed in Lok Sabha in 2022.

B) The Hattee of Sirmaur who are residents of Trans Giri were demanding ST status similar to the Jaunsar Bawar area of Uttarakhand.

C) The Jaunsar Bawar Area of Uttarakhand was granted ST Status in 1967.

The South Africa petitioned an urgent order at International Court of Justice (ICJ) against Israel, declaring breach of its obligations under the 1948 Genocide Conventions. India ratified the Convention in 1959. The UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide was moved in the UNGA in 1948.

A) The Convention on Genocide states that Genocide is a crime whether it is committed during wartime or peacetime.

B) South Africa is Israel's biggest trading partner in the African Continent.

C) South Africa has traditionally been sympathetic to the Palestinian plight and has deep rooted reasons for solidarity with Gaza.

India started its 4 year term as a member of the highest body of the global statistical system, the “UN Statistical System”. The UN Statistical Commission was established in 1947 and is headquartered at New York.

A) India has won the election to the global statistics body in April 2023 after a gap of nearly 20 years.

B) India is elected as a member at the time when the 24 member body will decide new norms for National accounts.

C) India was previously elected as a member in 2004.

The Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi is set to unveil North India's first river rejuvenation project “Devika” built on the lines of Namami Gange. The Devika Project was launched in February 2019 and is implemented along Devika River in Jammu and Kashmir.

Key Points:

A) Devika River is considered as the Sister of the Sacred river Ganga.

B) The rejuvenation project also involves three Sewage Treatment plants, small hydropower plants, two cremation Ghats etc.

C) The Devika Project has been included in the National River Conservation Project (NRCP) of Government of India.

Vice Admiral Kiran Deshmukh overtook charge as the Chief of Material of the Indian Navy from Vice Admiral Sandeep Naithani on 1st January 2024. Vice Admiral Sandeep Naithani retired after 39 years of service to the Indian Navy.

A ) Vice Admiral Kiran Deshmukh is a recipient of Vishisht Seva Medal and Ati Vishisht Seva Medal.

B) He Graduated as an Engineer from VJTI University, Mumbai in 1986.

C) Vice Admiral Deshmukh oversaw milestones like commissioning of India's first Indigenous Aircraft Carrier and maiden launch of light combat aircraft.

The National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) along with Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) has launched the SMART 2.0 program to mainstream research in the field of Ayurveda. SMART stands for Scope for Mainstreaming Ayurveda Research among Teaching Professionals.

Key Points:

A ) The Main aim of the program is to promote evidence based clinical research on Ayurveda interventions.

B) The program will target Healthcare challenges through Ayurveda formulations.

C) The research targets paediatrics, malnutrition, women's health and lifestyle diseases.

The Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the Kochi-Lakshadweep Islands Submarine Optical Fibre Connection(KLI-SOFC) project. The Project aims to provide 100 times faster internet for the people of Lakshadweep. The project was conceptualised and undertaken by the Department of Telecommunications (DOT).

Key Points:

A) The project connected mainland (Kochi) to 11 Islands of Lakshadweep through high capacity Submarine cable link.

B) The project was executed by BSNL and funded by Universal Services Obligation Fund (USOF), DOT.

C) The medium of communication earlier with Islands was through Satellite Medium.

The Government of India is planning to terminate the Free Movement Regime (FMR) along the International borders with Myanmar. The step is being taken to address issues like illegal migration and insurgent activities taking place at the border. The FMR was initiated in 2018 as part of India's look east policy.

Key Points:

A) The FMR allows individuals residing within 16 kms of the International border between India and Myanmar to travel across the border without Visa.

B) The policy allows two week stay per visit to an individual and aims to foster cross border interactions.

C) The Free Movement Regime policy was operational along the 1643 km long India-Myanmar border.

<h2 style="text-align:start" id="content-id-1704568564504-8">Pakistan to acquire J31 Chinese Stealth Fighters</h2>

The Pakistan Air Force is set to acquire the J-31 stealth fighter aircraft also known as Shenyang FC-31. The J-31 aircrafts will replace early versions of the F-16, part of the PAF fleet. The PAF is already operating two Chinese made aircraft namely JF-17 “Thunder” and 25 J-10C “Vigorous Dragon”.

Key Points:

A) The J-31 is a Naval Version smaller aircraft operated from aircraft carriers.

B) The J-31 aircraft is in the development stage and still not inducted in the Chinese Air Force.

C) More than 60-70 percent of China's air force is equipped with 4th and 5th generation fighter aircrafts.

The 13 year old American Willis Gibson who goes by the streamer name Blue Scuti becomes the first person to ever beat Tetris. Tetris was first released in 1984 and became a worldwide sensation.

A ) Tetris is a video game that challenges players to rotate and conjoin seven different Falling block shapes.

B) Tetris was created by Alexey Pajitnov and developed as a business by gaming entrepreneur Henk Rogers.

C) Tetris is the best selling video game of all time with 520 million copied sold till date.
