<h2>PM Modi announced Vishkarma Yojana to benefit individuals skilled in traditional craftsmanship</h2>

PM Modi from the ramparts of Red Fort on 77th Independence day announced  the launch of Vishwakarma Yojana Scheme planned to benefit individuals skilled in traditional craftsmanship. 

Key Points:

A) Vishkarma Yojana will begin with an initial allocation of <a href="tel:13000-15000">13000-15000</a> crore.

B) Weavers, Goldsmith, Blacksmiths, Laundry workers, barbers and such families will be empowered through the Yojana.

C) The scheme will be launched on Vishkarma Jayanti benefiting individuals skilled in traditional craftsmanship particularly from the OBC community.

D) Government working with women SHGs to create 20 million &#39;Lakhpati Didis&#39; in villages.

About India&#39;s National Flag:

A) Designed by Pingali Venkayya, a freedom fighter and a Gandhian.

B) The Indian National flag was proposed by Mahatma Gandhi to INC in 1921.

C) Tricolor adopted as National flag of India during constituent assembly meeting on 22 July 1947.

<h2>Government moved 3 Bills to overhaul British Era Criminal Laws</h2>

Home Minister Amit Shah introduced 3 bills in Parliament that seek to replace the British era Indian Penal Code (IPC), Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) and Indian Evidence Act. It will transform our Criminal Justice system.

Key Points:

A) Proposed Reforms include replacement of Indian penal Code with Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita(BNS). It will prioritise offences against the state , crimes against women and children  and murder.

B) Code on Criminal Procedure(CrPC) changed to Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Bill that aims to streamline Criminal proceedings for enhanced citizen safety.

C) Indian Evidence Act changed to The Bharatiya Sakshya Bill that focuses on evidence rules to bolster the reliability of evidence in court.

D) Reforms mark a substantial shift in India&#39;s legal framework aligning it with modern societal values.

<h2>14 States and Union Territories yet to sign MoU on implementation of PM USHA scheme</h2>

Memorandum of Understanding with Centre mandates implementation of National Education Policy. Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyaan(PM-USHA) scheme has 60:40 funding split between Centre and States with no extra money for NEPR reforms.

Key Points:

A) Kerala, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal are among 14 states and UTs which are yet to sign MoU with the Ministry of Education.

B) MoU is necessary for the implementation of the National Education Policy and to receive funds nearly 13,000 crore over next 3 years.

C) The scheme covers Government and Government aided institutions of the states and UTs .

A) Centrally sponsored Scheme

B) Rashtriya Uchhhatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) Scheme launched as PM USHA.

C) The scheme will ensure ICT based Digital Infrastructure to ensure greater access to education.

D) Scheme focuses on equity, access and inclusion.

<h2>ISROs first solar mission ADITYA-L1 reached the spaceport in Sriharikota</h2>

India&#39;s first solar mission ADITYA-L1 that ISRO hopes to launch by the end of August reached the spaceport in Sriharikota. It is the first space based Indian Observatory to study the Sun.

Key Points:

A) ADITYA-L1 spacecraft will study a number of properties of the Sun such as dynamics and origins of coronal mass ejection.

B) It will be placed on L1 or the first Lagrange Point of the Earth-sun system.

C) The spacecraft will always be in the same direction from Earth as the sun.

D) Spacecraft carries 7 payloads to observe the photosphere, chromosphere and the outermost layer of the Sun.

About ADITYA-L1 Mission:

A) First space based Indian Mission to study the Sun.

B) Launched by PSLV-XL launch vehicle.

C) Spacecraft to be placed in a halo orbit around the Lagrange point(L1) of Earth-Sun system.

D) Advantage of placing spacecraft in halo orbit is it can continuously view the Sun without any occultation or eclipses.

<h2>The National Medical Commission released guidelines for the Professional Conduct of Registered Doctors</h2>

Comprehensive guidelines include topics such as Doctor&#39;s use of Social Media, the medicines they prescribed and their continuous professional development. Doctors are given the right to refuse treatment to abusive or non paying patients except in emergencies.

Key Points:

A) Doctor&#39;s will be allowed to share information and announcements online but it must be accurate and not misleading.

B) Doctor&#39;s are encouraged to prescribe generic medicines.

C) Guidelines mandate Doctors to undergo CPD, conferences and educational sessions to update their skills.

D) Doctors and their families are prohibited from accepting gifts, travel facilities, monetary grants and endorsements from pharmaceutical companies.

<h2>China&#39;s northern region of Inner Mongolia reported 2 cases of Bubonic Plague</h2>

Two infected people are the husband and daughter of the previous case detected on August 7. All close contacts have been quarantined and have shown no abnormal symptoms.

About Bubonic plague:

A) It is an infectious disease caused by a specific bacteria called Yersinia pestis.

B) It can affect Humans as well as Animals and is spread mainly by Fleas.

C) It is also known as Black Death and it gets its name from swollen lymph nodes caused by disease.

D) Symptoms include sudden high fever, pain in areas of abdomen, headaches and large and swollen lymph in lymph nodes.

E) It is a type of zoonotic disease.

F) Can be cured by antibiotics and it can be fatal if not treated.

<h2>Scientists from Beijing, China detect Microplastics in the Human Heart for the first time</h2>

Scientists made the discovery while analysing the heart tissue of 15 patients who underwent cardiovascular surgery. Microplastics can be less than 5 millimetres wide and can enter the human body through mouth, nose and other cavities in the body.

What are Microplastics?

A) Microplastics are tiny bits of various types of plastics found in the environment.

B) They result due to fragmentation and degradation of larger plastic items.

C) National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and European Chemical Agency define Microplastics as less than 5 mm in length.

D) Microplastics are not biodegradable and once in the environment they persist forever.

E) Microplastics can be Primary or Secondary depending upon their origination.

<h2>Kerala CM and daughter named in Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited (CMRL) Illegal payments Case</h2>

Kochi based CMRL allegedly made illegal payments to politicians, police officers, media houses, trade unions and others to ensure smooth running of business. CMRL is a Kochi based export oriented mineral sand processing company.

Key Points

A) Income Tax Department report accuses CMRLs managing director Sasidharan Kartha of making illegal payments.

B) Report also alleges illegal payments of Rs 1.72 crore to Veena T, daughter of Kerala CM Pinrayi Vijayan.

C) CPI (M) argued that payments were not illegal and were part of business operations for the company&#39;s smooth functioning.

<h2>Odisha Government launches Scheme to improve Banking penetration in 4373 panchayats</h2>

The Odisha Government will open a CSP plus banking outlet in 4373 unranked Gram panchayats to provide banking services. Initiative will be coordinated with six public sector banks.

A) Odisha Government will provide rent free banking space for five years. 

B) Under the scheme, the Government will set up customer service point-plus (CSP plus) outlets in unranked panchayats.

C) Senior Citizens, differently abled persons and pregnant women will get doorstep banking services.

D) Financial Inclusion is a high priority agenda of the government of Odisha.
