<p>India's core sector growth slowed to 2.9 percent in February 2025, down from 5.1 percent in January, reflecting the weakest expansion in five months. Cement and fertilizers were the only sectors with annual growth, at 10.5 percent and 10.2 percent, respectively. Steel production increased by 5.6 percent, while electricity output grew by 2.8 percent. Coal, crude oil, and natural gas experienced weaker performances. Additionally, refinery output rose by 0.8 percent, and the Manufacturing PMI fell to 56.3, indicating a slowdown in industrial activity.</p>

The exercise will consist of two phases: the Harbour Phase (March 28-30) in Chennai, with ship visits, exchanges, and briefings, and the Sea Phase (March 31- April 2) in the Bay of Bengal, featuring live weapon firings, tactical manoeuvres, and anti-air operations. Participating assets include Indian ships INS Rana and INS Kuthar, along with Russian vessels RFS Pechanga and RFS Rezkiy. INDRA 2025 aims to strengthen bilateral ties and regional maritime security.</p>
